Home Learning: Day 59 (Thursday 2/7/20)

Good Morning Beech Class!
How are you today? Before we get into today’s learning there are a couple of updates to be shared with you.

Last week of Term
There has been a bit of confusion around the arrangements for key worker groups in the final week. So just to clarify, the only days in the last week of term that Year 3 children will be in school will either be Wednesday 15th or Thursday 16th July. Here are the group lists again so you can double check which day you are in.

The really good news is that I will also be in school on those days…I’m VERY excited about seeing you all!

Miss Lobb news

There was a big change for me yesterday as I went into School to help out in Reception. It was great to be back at Dunraven, but not quite the same without Beech and Oak class being there! I will now be in school everyday until the end of term. This means I may not be able to respond to all the fab work that you are doing, but I will try my best as I love hearing from you. Next week’s Blog will have a different format, more on that tomorrow.

Now for today’s learning…
You have another lesson on Mass from Oak National Academy, and as we finished our book Queen Martha yesterday, Mr Norman has set an Egyptian reading/writing task for today. I have added the Sun Salutation that we did last week to the bottom of the Blog. You can do this first to start your day feeling refreshed and calm, or take a break during the day to give you a boost. If enough of us do it, it may bring the sun out!

Maths
Measure: Read a scale
Today we will be building on the reading of scales for mass, moving onto reading different scales and focusing on differing intervals. Click here to get started.

Howard Carter image

As you found out last week Egyptologist Howard Carter discovered Tutankhamen’s tomb in the Valley of the Kings. This information gives a lot more detail about the man himself and how he discovered the tomb. There are three sets of questions, 1 star, 2 stars and 3 stars, depending how confident you feel about what you have read.

Sun Salutation
The Sun Salutation is a series of Yoga poses performed in a sequence, often used as a warm-up.

Have a thankful Thursday…
