Home School: Day 28

Hello, Beech class!

I hope you enjoyed the message from Ms. Marsh yesterday! If you missed it, visit yesterday’s post to see it.

Today’s learning

Today’s maths has been set on My Maths and is called ‘Angles 2’.

Please go through the lesson activities and complete the questions – don’t forget to press ‘mark it!’.

Today’s task on Purple Mash is called ‘Campsite Jim’ and is all about separating fronted adverbials with a comma. A fronted adverbial is a word, phrase or clause that goes at the beginning of a sentence and acts like an adverb. They are always separated by a comma.

Sitting by the fire, the boy toasted some marshmallows.

After a while, the cookies began to cool down.

Grumbling grumpily, the girl tidied her bedroom.

A helpful trick to remember is that when you get to a point in a sentence where you take a bit of a pause or your voice goes up slightly, you may want to consider whether a comma is needed there.
