Happy New Year!

We have all returned to school with a wonderful, positive attitude to learning and have settled back brilliantly.

We have started our new topic “The Caribbean”. In Geography we have looked at our big question- Would you rather live in the UK or the Caribbean.  We will have our Caribbean carnival on January 31st which we are very excited about.

In Maths, we have been learning the time. We have looked at quarter to and a quarter past. We have also learnt that there are 24 hours in a day and 60 minutes in an hour.

In English, we have started our new book – The Nutmeg Princess. We have pretended to be one of the characters and written a diary entry, using adventurous adjectives.

This term we will be having music lessons with our music teacher. This week we learnt a poem with lots of different sounds which we used our voices to create.

Two notices:
  1. P.E. is now on a Tuesday afternoon. Please ensure children have PE kit with them on this day. I would advise bringing the kit in and just keeping it on their coat peg for each half term.
  2. Our reading days have changed and their new day will be written on their reading records.
